Hey Reader, I’ve been sitting on this one for a while. It’s not that I was ashamed of the results (10,000 leads at $5 each with zero paid ad spend is pretty hard to argue with)... I just wanted to make sure I presented the solution in the best possible structure. The thing I keep running into with technical founders… they’ve usually built something that’s genuinely remarkable. They’re marketing team is putting in lots of work. But… the pipeline’s still not moving. When I walk into those situations, the team usually tells me something like, “we need more content”, or “we need to spend more on ads”. I understand why that’s the instinct. After all, it feels productive. It feels like “we’re really doing something here”. But unfortunately it’s almost never the right diagnosis. With SingleStore, the content was never the problem - it was purpose built to convert. What didn’t exist was the system that turned that content into pipeline (ie; no repeatable playbook, no audience growth engine, etc). Every high-power webinar got produced, went live, got posted to YouTube, and then sat there. Then, crickets… I wrote a piece to go alongside this week’s YouTube video… It frames up the core tension here, and why the $5-per-lead result is less surprising than it looks once you understand what was actually missing. It’s short. It’s meant to be read instead of watching (I know some people prefer to read vs watch/listen - I’m one of them 🙂). I think this one will land if your content-to-pipeline ratio has been bothering you. Hope it’s useful. Talk soon, Lillian Pierson Fractional CMO & GTM Engineer P.S. If any of this sounds familiar -- good content, thin pipeline, rising CAC -- let’s hop on call and diagnose what’s really going on and how we can solve that problem together. Here’s a link to book a time to speak. |
